Who is Elise Foss?
Elise Foss was born in Brazil and raised in Venezuela. She began her dance career at the age of five. In addition to experiencing spicy Latin American dance, Elise studied jazz, ballet, modern dance and belly dance. She went on to study economics, but her true passions were fashion design and dance, and she taught dance classes as she studied.
After she moved to the United States in 1992, she pursued her interest in fitness by training to become an aerobics instructor and a personal trainer. She earned her certification from the American Council on Exercise for both leading Group Exercise Classes and Personal Training. Elise has also earned a Fitness Specialist certificate from the University of Illinois, Chicago and a Graduate Laban certificate of Movement Analysis from Columbia College.
Elise has taken numerous classes in a plethora of areas that involve the connection of the body and the mind. She has also completed the Curriculum for Living/Coaching from Landmark Education and has a certification as an Intrinsic Coach. In conjunction to all of that Elise uses her knowledge of healing acquired through the study of energy for the past 12 years.
Elise has taught group exercise classes of various kinds since 1985 nationally and internationally. She can be found teaching classes these days at Chicago's finest health clubs including: The Evanston Athletic Club, Winnetka Community House and teaching at special events all over the Chicagoland area. Elise teaches couples Latin dance classes as well.
Additionally, she has has written fitness columns for the newspapers El Otro, Deportemas, and Ritmo Magazine. Currently, she is writing for the website Vida y Salud. She is also an occasional guest speaker talking about fitness topics at different radio shows. Elise owns and operates Feeling Good Wellness Company, which provides in-home fitness training services, group exercise classes and corporate presentations in the Chicago area.
